Com a vitoria de Portugal ficou decidido no dia 25 de Julho de 2017 que a UER e RTP anunciaram que Lisboa tinha sido escolhida como cidade que recebe o festival onde a Atice Arena (antigo nome Meo Arena) vai receber o festival em 2018.
No dia 7 de Novembro foi anunciado que 43 países iriam participar com a vinda da Rússia que não participou em 2017 devido a conflitos com a sua representante mas também o Slogan All Aboard (Todos a Bordo ). Em 8 de janeiro de 2018, foi anunciado que o concurso seria organizado por quatro mulheres, Sílvia Alberto , Filomena Cautela , Daniela Ruah e Catarina Furtado.No dia 29 de Janeiro ficou decidido o sorteiro das semifinais . As datas previstas do festival são 8 , 10, 12 de Maio.
